From Scary to Merry!

Usually on Design on a Dime they say from drab to fab... but that phrase buggs me... so the extra room is finally done... the painter finished, the carpets got deep cleaned and DARK paint is gone... Shel and I had a difference of opinion on wall color (seems like Glenn agreed with me) she had the room painted dark blue with a less dark accent...

Glenn chose grey with white trim (in my opinon a classy choice) the room makes me happy - and more important I hope he is happy with it too... what a diffrence...

Tall and Beautiful...

Here is a creepy fantasy... Me and a long table full of delicious sandwiches... so many that I could only take a bite of each one... crusty baguettes, soft wheat rolls, of course ciabatta... turkeys, hams, endless vegetables...

I was talking to my little ones last week about Heaven and how Jesus promised we would be at his table in his kingdom someday... I can only imagine in my heart that the Lord would endorse a sandwich buffet... ;-)

Praises...

-My home loan modification came through... $570 a month off
-Had a wonderful lurch with my little sister, dad and brother Doug
-Found a new roommate; Glenn - seems like a nice guy, he moves in on the 1st
-I'm loving Community Cafe at church; my small group is amazing
-My Sunday school class is flourishing
-The house is clean (ugg except that huge pile of laundry to fold)

Extreme Makeover Bathroom Edition...

Dad and I talked at length about my financial goals and future and it seems smart right now to have a roommate live with me to help pay the mortgage.

Before I could possibly show the room to perspective house mates I had to re-do the bathroom...

Shel's bathroom was ugly... actually it was down right gross.

So in an ambitious, HGTV inspired moment I ripped the sink and mirror out, tore up the floor and prepped for a new coat of paint.

I honestly had know idea what I was doing... I made a few mistakes (specially with the flooring) but by trail and error the place came out pretty sweet.

I put in new vinyl floors, sink, vanity, mirror, lighting, and a fresh coat of cool grey paint. I think I am ready to start showing the place off...

Perfect...

Barb and I had to get out of the office today, so we went over to the spectrum for a pinkberry! The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the palm trees were swaying in the background... it was just perfect...

Good Friends...

This weekend Nicole and Micah had an awesome BBQ at their place - since the Hays are leaving soon it was a perfect time to get together with them and The Jones'. Much food and fellowship and laughing ensued. So good to spend time with the special people God blesses you with...

Growing Up...

I can't believe it... Bryce and Catherine are growing up so fast... In a couple weeks Bryce will be 6 and a bit ago Catherine turned 8... Sheri had an awesome super fiesta this week for them last Saturday... food, fun and friends... It was a good time!

Seviche two ways...

I just adore seviche... It contains all of my favorite things... shrimp, salsa, lime, and fried tortillas...

Carmen requested I make it so I did on Saturday... I bought the traditional fried tostada shells to serve them on...

I also fried up some crunchy, over-salted chips for dipping if anyone wanted... it was a pretty nice setup

I gobbled the chips and seviche ALL DAY... I was so full by the time I went home... Look at the bursty little shrimp piece... Fresh n' Easy really has lovely shrimp... I can't wait till they open the one by my house.

Curry...

Curry is so ugly... I have never seen a gorgeous plate of curry anything, ever...On Friday I grilled up a huge pile of fresh chopped vegetables; potato, broccoli, carrot, onion, snow peas, green beans

Then I stirred in some spicy curry paste... so delish and really a pretty healthy dinner...

Ugly, but good...
