New Digs

So last week the company I work for moved from an ancient building in Newport Beach down to Irvine. Though we are no longer close to the beach, we are in a very fancy block in a 9 story high rise in the Irvine Spectrum area. There are lots of high end restaurants and shops around us. A total perk is that the new building is only 1 mile from the train station so I get to work moments from disembarking from the train. And BEST of all I finally have left the land of cubicles for my own office. Its so weird having a big room to work in, everyone who walks by in the hall stares at you - I’m sure I will get used to it. I did a little bit of decorating to make it less sterile. Here is my first attempt at adding a video to the blog – hope it works!

Wicked...

So my current favorite broadway show is Wicked! We went on saturday to see it for the 3rd time. It was so good - I do wish Carol Shelly was still playing the part of Elphaba, though - whats her face isnt as good...

Denver and check in...

So I went to Denver for work last week and it was FREEZING. Dont get me wrong, I love the snow but not on a rush hour traffic filled freeway. I did stay in a really nice hotel - the Courtyard Cherry Creek. I had an awesome view (sorry the pic is so bad) and I did get to eat pretty good while I was in town. Amazingly even though I splurged a bit I managed to lose weight on the Lord's Table.

Current: 175

BMI: 25.1 - uggg I am .1 overweight... ohh well next week!

Bitter

Today I feel bitter so I used a grapefruit to express myself. I think I will use fruit as a means to communicate again in the future.

Darn Strait

For a Christmas present dad got us all tickets to see George Strait in concert. We left saturday morning for Vegas in time to gorge down a buffet, see George (what an awesome show!) and get back for church on Sunday morning - pheww - what a weekend! That's Lisa's man Doug - he is from a farm or ranch or somthing...

The Perfect Friday...

I can't remember the last time there was 6 feet of fresh snow on the mountains and the roads were clear and safe to go skiing. It was just too tempting, so I called off sick from work on Friday and suited up in my skigarb for a day on the slopes. I stopped by starbucks and got a latte for the road and to my delight thier credit card machine was broken: I only had $2 cash so they gave me my $4.30 latte for $2 - SCORE!

Then I went on Jack in the Box for a delicious breakfast jack... mmm it was the perfect breakfast on the run.

So I rounded the bend to the mountain and below bird blue skies I saw a glimpse of heaven; all three sides to Mountain High packed with fluffy white powder, groomed to perfection and plenty of parking. I snapped on my boots and got one of the best full days of skiing in EVER.
